If you haven’t been
to the gift shop lately, you’re in for a pleasant surprise.
We’ve added new merchandise and more history books, including
books for children. We have a new children’s book about the Cape
May Lighthouse as well as the Lenape legend of Cape May
diamonds. We also have some traditional games like
pick-up-sticks and marbles.
This winter, we’re transforming the shop
into a winter wonderland. You can do all your holiday shopping
at the Museum. We now carry all natural shea butter soap wrapped
in holiday wrappers, perfect for stocking stuffing. We have
snowman candles (very cute!) and two wick jar candles in winter
scents like balsam fir and bayberry, made right in Elmer, NJ,
snowman ornaments, primitive tin ornaments, pierced tin electric
wax warmers, wire wine caddies, wire soap dishes, Co-lonial
Williamsburg kitchen towels, hand knit scarves and hats, Naked
Bee lotions and travel kits, gift boxed lavender sachets, pot
holders with cute designs and matching cookie cutters (a great
house guest gift), and many more items for pollyannas or nice
little gifts for friends. We’ve also added a new line—Solmate
socks made in Vermont of 100% organic cotton in bright colors
and patterns in all sizes including children’s and babies’. We
also have boxes of very pretty embossed Christmas cards.
Be sure to stop in and see our decorated gift shop. We know
you’ll find something for everyone on your list. And don’t
forget our Holiday Open House, Saturdays, December 1st, 8th and
15th. We’ll have hot cider and cookies and a special craft for
the children, and the Museum will be decorated as it would have
been in the "olden days." See you soon.
