Cape May County History
Shore Communities
The Wildwoods
Five Mile Island and Two Mile Island,
originally separated by Turtle Gut Inlet, provide the sites of four separate
communities. The island was originally used to graze cattle.
In the center of Wildwood is the Boardwalk, which is over 100 years old.
Todays four communities include North Wildwood, Wildwood, Wildwood
Crest and West Wildwood.
