Beesley, Dr. Maurice; List of Early Landowners
This list was compiled by Dr. Maurice Beesley and first published in Sketch of the Early History of the County of Cape May in 1857. Using a combination of available state and county records, he created a list of some of the earliest landowners in Cape May County.

Berkey, Joan; List of Early County Deeds

Architectural Historian, Joan Berkey, compiled this list while gathering research on the county's earliest settlers at the New Jersey State Archives.

Dorwart, Dr. Jeffery M.; List of Whalers/Yeomen
Dr. Jeffery Dorwart created this list as an appendix to his book Cape May County, New Jersey: The Making of an American Resort Community, published in 1992. This index contains land information for the thirty-five families that Dorwart focused on in his narrative.

Hand, J.P. and Stites, Dr. Daniel P; List of Early Wills
This list is based on data from Abstracts of New Jersey Wills vols. I (1670-1730) and II (1730-1750) and the First Court Records of Cape May County, compiled by J. P. Hand and Dr. Daniel Stites in 2009.

Stevens, Lewis T.; List of Early Cattle Earmarks
Lewis Townsend Stevens published The History of Cape May County, New Jersey in 1897 following ten years of research. This list, included in his text as part of his narrative, consists of registered cattle earmarks from the colonial period.
